Happy (or at least good to see you on this) Monday, everyone!
I want to apologize for the delayed release. I kept pushing off getting this one done and now the weekend is nearly at a close. I’ve been getting carried away with resting, and it has started to slow me down.
Learning is my goal. It is my function with this website and this blog. Eventually, I will be posting researched articles, short story writing practice, and God willing, some genuine webcomics drawn by yours truly.
These are all new to me, in a way. I loved the creative writing exercises in school, but when it came time to work full-time, I set those interests aside. They took work, and I’d chosen to give my full energy to my job or finding one. I’d only allowed rest to consist of activities where I consumed media rather than created it. I’ve always been a bit of a perfectionist, refusing to accept or share anything but what I’d made certain was the best I could accomplish. These blog posts have been an exercise in learning to let go of that perfectionist mentality, and it has helped tremendously. I’m finally making headway in my book, I’ve cleared the way to write a proper outline for a second one, and I’m finally in the headspace to begin creating skits and short videos.
We’ll get there. It takes time, patience, and persistence. Even when it feels like you’re getting nowhere at all, the slightest bit of effort is better than none of it.
Thank you for joining me on this journey. I’m looking forward to exploring what art I can create with all of you.
